Wellington Park Sensory Garden, Bluebells Sculpture

Wellington Park Sensory Garden in Lexington, KY Sculptures designed by Amanda Matthews The artistic sculptures of native flora, fauna, and fungi will transform the entire space into a landscape of local environmental biology, and should enhance and complement the various plants and beautiful hardscape of the park. As such, these monumental, interactive sculptures are represented as flowers, ferns, mushrooms, a spider, a salamander, and a dragonfly. Secondary sculptures include snail fences, log benches, and naturally fed waterways. Each design is intended to be interactive and stimulate one or more senses of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. The vignettes and sculptures are also designed to create a walking ecology storybook, along with signage including drawings and descriptions of each sculpture explaining its relationship to the local environment and how it is an indicator of a healthy habitat.
